Singapore, October 19, 2024 – In a move set to significantly enhance Indonesia’s research capabilities and broaden access to world-class academic resources, Nobelium Singapore has officially entered into a strategic partnership with Elsevier, a global leader in information and analytics for researchers and journal publishing. Mr. Lutfi Trisandi Rizki and Mr. Aris Winarna, representing Nobelium Singapore, met with Kavid Yagnik, Elsevier’s Regional Director–Solution Sales ANZ/SE/SEA, on October 18, 2024, at Elsevier’s Singapore office to initiate this impactful collaboration.

This partnership responds to a critical need in Indonesia’s academic landscape. While Elsevier Indonesia has traditionally focused on institutional marketing and distribution, the collaboration with Nobelium Singapore brings a unique value: capacity building for Indonesian researchers, journal editors, and academic institutions. The initiative emphasizes upskilling and reskilling programs that aim to empower Indonesian academics to publish in reputable international journals, particularly those indexed by Elsevier and Scopus, thereby increasing global visibility for Indonesian research.

“This partnership goes beyond boosting Indonesia’s publication metrics,” said Lutfi Trisandi Rizki, Co-Founder of Nobelium Singapore. “It’s about cultivating a generation of researchers who are equipped with the competencies to contribute meaningful, globally recognized knowledge addressing real-world challenges.”

A central component of this partnership is expanding access to Elsevier’s extensive database and analytical platforms. Currently, these tools are predominantly used by Indonesia’s top-tier universities (PTNBH). Through this collaboration, Nobelium Singapore and Elsevier aim to extend access to second-tier and emerging universities by establishing shared digital research hubs and collaborative platforms—ensuring that a broader range of institutions can benefit from Elsevier’s resources.

“Equitable access to scientific information is essential for academic growth,” emphasized Aris Winarna, Academic Advisor at Nobelium Singapore. “By democratizing access and providing structured training, we are investing in Indonesia’s future as a competitive player in global research.”

To launch the initiative, a structured online certification program will be introduced for journal editors, librarians, and journal managers across Indonesia. Elsevier will host 10–20 selected librarians and editors for an intensive certification and mentorship program co-designed with Nobelium Singapore, aiming to standardize editorial competencies in alignment with global benchmarks.

This collaboration marks a transformative chapter for Indonesian academia. By combining Elsevier’s global infrastructure and insights with Nobelium Singapore’s strategic networks and educational innovations, the partnership is poised to elevate the quality, visibility, and impact of Indonesia’s scholarly publications. It is a step forward not only for academic advancement but also for positioning Indonesia as a thought leader in the global knowledge economy.
